How to Write Community Service Announcements (CSAs)

Non-profit community organisations have something they want to say. Community radio stations want to broadcast their announcements. Community Service Announcements (CSAs) — also known as Public Service Announcements (PSAs) — are short announcements made by a radio station to promote the activities of community groups, to give information about specific events or to request help.

These guidelines show a community organisation how to write a CSA in 8 easy steps.

Examples are included. Community and not-for-profit radio stations have permission to download the guidelines and distribute the document to local organisations that want to provide CSAs to the radio station. Obtain permission from HCR if you wish to customise these guidelines for your local needs.
